There's something special about watching someone you know build something of their own. For us at Shored Up Digital, that someone is Jenna Sylvia, and that something is Coastal Events MV.
Over the years, Jenna and Shored Up Digital have crossed paths in a few different roles, most notably at The Martha's Vineyard Times, where we've worked together on stories, columns, and the many deadlines that come with Island journalism. Anyone who has worked alongside Jenna knows she is organized, calm under pressure, and always three steps ahead. So when she and her husband, Zach, launched Coastal Events MV, it made perfect sense. Getting to support their new company as a client feels like a true full-circle moment.
Meet Coastal Events MV
Coastal Events MV plans, produces, and powers weddings, corporate events, and private gatherings across Martha's Vineyard and coastal Massachusetts. Jenna and Zach are both Martha's Vineyard born and raised, and they launched the business in early 2025, shortly after planning their own Island wedding.
Jenna has worked in Island hospitality since she was a teenager and spent years in event coordination before returning home to the Vineyard. Zach is a licensed electrician who got his start in a high school vocational program. Together, they saw a gap that anyone who has planned an event on the Island will recognize. Martha's Vineyard draws couples and companies from all over the world, but many of its most beautiful settings, from backyard lawns to open fields, were never designed to power a tent full of lights, a catering kitchen, a live band, and a photo booth all at once.

On the event planning side, Jenna offers coordination packages that range from a few months of planning support to full coordination and design, where she books and manages vendors like caterers, florists, musicians, tents, and rentals. Their team also includes a design consultant, Emily Lowe, who focuses on the look and feel of each event.
On the power side, Zach handles mobile power and event production, including generators, distribution, permits, and on-site electrical support. As Zach likes to say, the goal is to keep the power safely out of sight, out of mind, and out of earshot.
